Services
Protection for every stage of your brand
From the first search to the tenth-year renewal, each service is priced as a flat-fee package and explained in plain English before you commit.
01
Trademark search and registration
Filing without a proper search is how brands end up in refusals, oppositions and expensive rebrands. We start with a complete nationwide, state and common-law search, including the web and social media, and give you an honest opinion on the likelihood of registration.
- Comprehensive search and clearance across federal, state and common-law sources
- Problematic marks identified early, with a recommended filing strategy
- Application prepared and filed with the USPTO, for US and foreign applicants
- Office actions answered promptly, through to registration
Search, clearance and filing are offered as a package at a flat rate.

02
Monitoring, enforcement and maintenance
A registration is only as strong as the attention you give it. Each year we monitor the USPTO, state and common-law databases for marks that are identical or confusingly similar to yours, and act before they take root.
- Yearly monitoring across USPTO, state and common-law records
- Infringing or confusingly similar marks identified and assessed
- Oppositions filed and cease and desist letters sent when warranted
- All renewal and maintenance filings handled on schedule
03
Brand consultation and strategy
The cheapest moment to fix a brand problem is before the brand exists. Before you register a business name, buy a domain, or claim a social handle, we conduct a comprehensive trademark search to identify potential conflicts and assess whether the name is available for use and registration.
Then we help you position your brand for growth and longevity: a strategy for the mark you file first, the marks you will need as the business grows, and how to structure your brands so each one stays distinctive, protectable and valuable over the long haul.
- A comprehensive search before you invest in a name, logo, domain or handle
- Guidance on choosing a mark that is distinctive and registrable
- Brand strategy to position your brand for growth and longevity
- Practical counsel on structuring existing brands and creating new ones
It saves time, money and the pain of rebranding after launch.

04
Licensing
A protected brand can earn on its own. Licensing agreements let other businesses use your mark on agreed terms, creating new revenue streams, expanding your market presence and raising the value of the brand itself.
- Identifying the right licensing partners
- Drafting and negotiating agreements that protect your mark and your income
- Ongoing support as the relationship grows
Also
Copyright registration and agreements
Authors, illustrators and other creatives own their work from the moment it is made, but registration is what gives that ownership teeth. We register copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office and draft the agreements that govern how your work is used, from publishing and collaboration to work-for-hire and non-disclosure.
Deborah writes and publishes herself, so the agreements are drafted by someone who has sat on your side of the table.
